If you’ve been paying attention to influencers lately or fashion, then I’m sure you’ve stumbled upon some sort of variation of chocolate brown. Yep, that’s right; the color of your favorite candy bar is officially in and is being worn in so many different ways. From sweatsuits to leggings to the famous Prada crossbody bag, everything is coming in chocolate brown. I’ve gone ahead and compiled some different items for you in this shade to help keep you trendy with little to no effort.
I hope you all had a great and happy holiday last week! I can’t believe it’s already going to be 2021, but at the same time I think we’re all very ready for a new year! I’ve seen some blog posts and Instagram roundups of people’s favorite things of 2020 and decided I’d do the same! I’ve separated this into a few different categories and have included links for each item so you can get your hands on it too! Enjoy!
Christmas is right around the corner, and I know with COVID restrictions it might be difficult to go out and shop this year. You might be relying on online shopping for gifts so I found some last minute gifts that you can buy on Amazon that will arrive before the 25th! I hope this is helpful and that you can get some last minute shopping in.
Hooded Fuzzy Cardigan: This cardigan is just like one I have that is so comfortable. This would be a perfect gift for anyone that loves to stay warm and comfortable. My whole family owns one or more of these because they’re seriously that soft! It feels like you’re wearing a blanket. It also comes in various colors and patterns.
5 Piece Makeup Sponge Set: This sponge set has really good reviews and comes in a pack of five for under $7 which is great. I think everyone needs a makeup sponge because it’s honestly a game changer when it comes to doing your makeup. I will never go back to using a regular brush for foundation and concealer.
18 Piece Makeup Brush Set: This is another great deal; this set comes with every brush that you could possibly ever need. It comes with a sculpting contour brush, an eyebrow spoolie, a highlighter brush, etc. Like I said, it literally has every brush you could possibly want and a makeup brush set is always a good gift.
Kate Spade Floral Notebook: Notebooks are always good because you can use them for daily journaling or for school/work. Kate Spade always has the prettiest stationary, and I personally like this floral one because it’s just so beautiful. This has 160 pages too so it will last you awhile.
Stojo Collapsible Coffee Cup: These coffee cups are so cute! They collapse so you can easily carry one around with you in your bag and then have a reusable cup if you go out and get coffee a lot. These come in many different colors too.
I’ve had this gift guide in my drafts for weeks now, and I’m so excited to finally share it with all of you! I’m officially on winter break so I’ll have a ton of more time to upload on here consistently. I tried to compile a wide variety of items for you; I really hope this is helpful and that you enjoy the post!
Items from left to right:
Def Leppard 1983 Tour T-Shirt Dress in black from Urban Outfitters: Urban makes the best graphic tees, and I bought this last month and have worn it countless times already! I bought it because I personally just love the graphic on the front, but any of their graphic tees would make a great gift this holiday season. This shirt is a personal favorite because it’s so cute and easy to throw on with leggings and sneakers.
Noelle Huggie Hoop Earring Set in gold from Anthropologie: This hoop earring set would be such a great and easy gift to give because of the variety of earrings. I personally love hoop earrings and I always find that Anthropologie has such pretty jewelry and great gifts to give for the holiday season.
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Secrets Set: This lip set is so pretty and is an item that I personally have on my holiday list. It features four different lip products in Charlotte Tilbury’s famous shade pillow talk. It seems that it’s sold out everywhere, but I’ve linked it from the Charlotte Tilbury website so that you can be put on the mailing list for when it comes back in stock.
Happiness Runs Crop in violet quartz from Free People: I have heard nothing but amazing things about this tank, and I think it would be such a great gift because you can wear it for working out or just as a regular top. This lilac color is stunning, but it’s also available in pretty much every shade you can imagine!
HUMIWA Womens Faux Fur Slippers in pink from Amazon: These are my all time favorite slippers and they’re only $17 from Amazon! I have them in light pink but they come in more colors and patterns. I have a pair of them that I keep in my dorm at school and I’m constantly wearing them.
2021 Great Year 12 Month Planner from Idlewild Co.: I found this planner on Anthropologie and it seems like it’s no longer available on several sites, but I thought it was so cute. A planner is a great gift because you can look forward to using it in the new year and get excited!
Big Claw Clips from Amazon: These claw clips are very trendy right now and I have this pack from Amazon. They’re really great because they actually hold all of your hair if you have longer hair like me. This pack has cute colors too!
If you’re anything like me, then you’re excited because it’s officially boot season! I love a good pair of boots, and ASOS has a ton in a variety of colors and styles. I scrolled through all of the boots and picked out some of my favorites for fall and winter! All of these except for one pair are under $100 too so you can be looking cute on a budget. I hope you enjoy!
I am so excited to share this post with you today for a few reasons. First of all, it’s a collaboration with one of my favorite small businesses, Love, Hayley! Hayley was so sweet and sent me this vintage Harley to share with you guys. Second of all, this post reminds me of my original blogging days when I did solely outfit posts. Everything is coming full circle, huh?
It’s no surprise that I love a good graphic tee, and I didn’t have a classic vintage Harley in my collection before this. I actually cropped this one because it was more of a t-shirt dress before (which is totally cute, but not the look I was going for) and I love the way it turned out. Something so special about vintage is that no one else is going to have this exact shirt. I love that Hayley hand picks these and sells them; it adds such a special touch to her shop.
The way I styled this is simple and casual; I accessorized to make it a little more interesting, but overall, this is a super easy look to recreate. Here are other ways in which you could style a Harley:
Option 1: Leave the shirt long, and pair it with biker shorts. Pair it with platform sneakers, a denim jacket, and a baseball cap.
Option 2: Crop the shirt and pair with leather pants. Pin hair back and add sunglasses. Hightop sneakers or boots would look cute with this.
Option 3: Leave the shirt long like a t-shirt dress, and add a big faux fur coat. Add boots – tights could also be added.
It’s so easy to make several different outfits out of a Harley; you could also of course do this with any graphic tee. I’m so grateful that I was able to find this one on Love, Hayley and collaborate with her. The prices on the site are so affordable and she runs the business all by herself; she’s a total boss! With new arrivals every week, Hayley makes sure you look trendy and cool without spending hundreds of dollars. You all know I’m big on shopping from smaller businesses, and this is one of my favorite shops; I’ve gotten clothing from her before this collaboration because I truly love her products. I also love that I’m supporting someone who’s so hardworking and genuinely cares about their customers. She includes hand written notes in every purchase and shipping is so quick; it truly doesn’t get much better than that. You can click here to check out her shop! Make sure to also click here to follow her on Instagram and stay up to date on new arrivals and her Insta live sales!
Big thank you to Abby Molos Productions for taking these photos for me! Click here to follow my talented friend.
This week officially marks the first week of autumn which means fall fashion is here! I’m so excited to start wearing my fall outfits, and I thought I’d pile some items together that I think would be perfect for this season! Enjoy!
Lover Knit Cardigan in Blush from Verge Girl: This cardigan is seriously so cute! I love the pastel colors; I know not everyone likes to wear light colors in fall, but I wear so many neutrals that any pop of color is good with me. This would be a great transitioning piece for spring and summer too. It looks light enough that you could layer it under bigger jackets when it’s colder in the winter.
Tyson Zip-Front Short Sleeve Romper from Urban Outfitters: I think this romper is so fun! It comes in a pumpkin and berry color along with this dark blue, all which scream fall to me. I feel like it’s such a flattering and cute piece; I’d pair it with a pair of ankle boots and a leather jacket. I love the corduroy material, the collar, and that it has buttons at the waist for extra detail. This would make a killer Thanksgiving outfit.
BDG High-Waisted Slim Straight Jean from Urban Outfitters: I wear jeans year round, and I think these ones are cool and could be styled so many different ways. I like the rips at the knees and the subtle paint splatters. You can honestly wear this with a sweater, bodysuit, crop top, you name it. I also love the fit of these; BDG makes really great straight jeans without making them a typical skinny jean pair (nothing wrong with those, but I love a girlfriend jean).
Perry Hooded Denim Jacket from Free People: If this jacket wasn’t $150, I’d buy it right now. I love a good denim jacket; I wear a black one from Free People all the time. The oversized sherpa lining in this one is amazing, and the suede hood makes it even better. I love that it’s lined around the outside of the arm cuffs too. This is such a cozy but stunning piece… well done, Free People.
Tiegan Medium Wash High Rise Raw Skinny Jeans from Lulu’s: Here’s another pair of jeans to check out if you want a skinny pair that’s super cute! What drew me to this pair was the fraying at the bottom of the pants. It makes them so much more unique than plain jeans, and I feel like they could easily transition from season to season.
Babygirl Knit in Sky from Verge Girl: I love this sweater so much. The color is so nice and since it’s so light, it would be perfect to pair with neutrals or other pastels. I would definitely wear this during fall and throughout the wintertime.
I hope you all liked this post – definitely let me know if you want a part two because I’ve seen so many items that would be so perfect for the fall weather! If there are any more fall themed posts that you’d like to see, leave it in the comments and I’ll add it to my list!
Masks have become a staple accessory amidst the COVID-19 outbreaks. I cannot stress this enough, but please: wear a mask! Wearing a mask is so simple and not only protects yourself, but also protects others! Of course, you can always buy and wear disposable masks, but they’re not that great for the environment and the straps aren’t compostable. If they’re left in landfills, who knows what kinds of animals could accidentally digest the straps? Besides being better for the environment, let’s be honest: reusable masks are way cuter. Don’t believe me just yet? Here’s a list of different shops where you can buy your very own reusable masks from!
As requested, today I’m going to share some of my favorite Instagram accounts that I follow with fashion related content. While not all of these girls are fashion bloggers, they each have their own individual sense of style and run such amazing feeds. I personally love discovering new accounts to follow and get some inspiration from, so I hope this post is helpful!
Delaney Childs (@delaneychilds): I love Delaney’s account; it’s one of my favorites that I follow! She pretty much posts daily, and she also runs a blog and YouTube channel that are just as great. I love that she styles both girly and edgy outfits. She posts a lot on her Instagram story where she shares discount codes and product links which is so helpful if you want the exact item she’s mentioned. Overall, she has a super positive and uplifting attitude which makes following her even better!
Danielle Bernstein (@weworewhat): Danielle is one of the first bloggers I’ve ever followed and is so incredibly successful. I’ve always loved her style and to see how she pairs pieces of clothing and accessories. She also shares a lot of her business ventures on her page which is great if you have an entrepreneurial spirit like myself. You can tell that she works really hard on all of the content she puts out and that she’s truly passionate about fashion.
Jaci Marie Smith (@jacimariesmith): Jaci is not necessarily a fashion blogger, but her feed is so cohesive and pretty! She does a really great job when it comes to color combinations. Her style is casual but extremely well put together. She also has an amazing podcast that I like to listen to, as well as a YouTube channel.
Devon Carlson (@devonleecarlson): Devon’s style is so chic and fun. I feel like she puts together pieces that you normally wouldn’t consider pairing together but then makes it such a good look. She also thrifts a lot of her pieces which I find really cool; it’s always interesting to see how she styles her latest finds. Devon’s account is a must follow.
Victoria Magrath (@inthefrow): I started following Victoria years ago now, and she’s also one of the first bloggers I ever started following. Her style is so classy; her Instagram photos look like they were taken straight out of a magazine. She has that editorial style when it comes to her content, and her blog is no exception. She’s also a great person to follow if you’re interested in luxury and designer pieces because she’s always sharing her latest purchases and talking about what’s new in fashion.
Kemper Baugh (@joandkemp): Kemper runs this Instagram account with her husband, Jordan, but she has plenty of pictures that highlight her amazing sense of style. She also has that casual yet chic style; I feel like she just has an eye for pairing pieces together and making them look so pretty (she actually used to be a stylist, which explains a lot of that). I love checking out her page when I need some outfit inspiration or new places to shop at.
Hopefully you all have found some new accounts to follow and check out! If you have anymore that you think are worth checking out, definitely leave them in the comments below!
I made a poll on Instagram asking what you wanted to see on Emily’s Edge, and the most voted for post was all about my skincare routine! I’m here to share all of my favorite products that I’ve been using consistently and find make a difference when it comes to my skin! Before we begin, I also want to note that these products are not the sole reason why my skin is clear; I’ve been seeing a dermatologist for several years and she’s helped me find all sorts of medication and topical treatments that have helped me. A lot of these products are recommended by dermatologists though and are great if you’re establishing a skincare routine!
CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser: I’ve been using this stuff for around seven years now. It’s super gentle which makes it great for dry to normal skin because it doesn’t leave your skin feeling like it’s been stripped away. I use this twice a day, and it’s really great for removing makeup too. I’ll use micellar water to get the base level of makeup off, but this cleanser is always used afterwards to really clean and perfect my skin. I also love CeraVe because it’s recommended by lots of dermatologists but is still very affordable!
Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Gel Moisturizer: This moisturizer is incredible. It smells like oranges and is so refreshing. I haven’t used this in awhile because I’ve been using the moisturizer I’m going to share with you next, but I definitely want to get my hands on this again. I have dry/normal skin, so this product always feels so good when I put it on because it hydrates my skin and leaves it moisturized.
CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion: This is another one of my favorite CeraVe products. It’s super lightweight but still leaves your face feeling so good and hydrated afterwards. The bottles says that you can use it at nighttime but I use it morning and night. Another thing I really like about this (and the brand in general) is that it’s all oil free.
Glossier Solution: I’ve gone through maybe four bottles of this exfoliator, and I truly do notice a difference when I use it. It feels like it really takes anything gross off of my skin and leaves it smooth. I listened to a podcast where a cosmetologist spoke and she said that exfoliating is super important because it allows your moisturizer to work even better. It honestly makes a lot of sense, and I like knowing that I’m taking care of my skin in multiple ways while using one product.
Glossier Invisible Shield: SPF is so important and needs to be worn daily, regardless if you’re in the sun or not. This is my all time favorite sunscreen for my face. It never leaves any white marks and goes on so smoothly. I can immediately put my makeup on over it and it doesn’t affect the way it looks at all. Plus, it smells like lemons. Who doesn’t want a fresh smelling sunscreen?
I hope you guys enjoyed this post! I’m currently back in New York and doing the fourteen day quarantine since I came from Washington so I have a lot of free time on my hands. I’m going to be getting a lot of content creating done for you so keep an eye on this space. Hope you’re all well!
