Arm Candy

As you guys know, I’m obsessed with layering jewelry. I’m always wearing my stacks of rings, and chances are that I also have some necklaces and/or bracelets on. However, there’s a few bracelets in particular that I’ve been reaching for lately, and I decided I would show them to you! Maybe it will even inspire your own stack for the summer.

Tai Braided Stone Bracelet: I’ve had this bracelet for so long, but it’s still one of my favorites. It’s the perfect piece to have in your jewelry collection because it looks so beautiful on its own but also layered with other pieces. I love that it’s also adjustable because you can make it fit perfectly (for someone with an abnormally small wrist, this is great). The bracelet comes in different colors on the Tai website as well. Side note: I love Tai and all of their pieces. They’re one of my favorite places for jewelry so definitely go and check them out!

Coordinates Bracelet: This bracelet is super special to me. My cousins had this bangle engraved with the coordinates of where they live. It’s really sentimental for me because the location is super special for many different reasons. Besides how meaningful the bracelet is, it looks super cute on and is extremely unique. When I wear it, it reminds me of my family and all of our shared experiences in one of my favorite places. They had this made at one of their local boutiques. However, if you also want a coordinate bracelet made, there are so many different people on Etsy who can make them!

Pink Tourmaline and Gold Beaded Bracelet: Unlike the other two, this is a recent addition to my collection. My mom makes and sells her own jewelry, and this is one of her pieces. It’s a stretchy pink tourmaline and gold beaded bracelet. I love the stones and how well they compliment all of my other bracelets. It’s a super pretty and practically goes with everything.

Do you have any accessories that you wear everyday? Let me know in the comments!

Thank you so much for reading. Hope you loved it!

Talk to you soon!

Up and Running

Up and Running

Well hello everybody!

I’d be lying if I said it hasn’t been a minute. My last blog post was towards the beginning of the summer, and it’s already halfway through the break with no other content on here. What’s up with that?

It doesn’t feel right to just start uploading again without any explanation. So, the full story begins now (bear with me).

Right after summer break started, I went on a trip to Seattle. It was amazing. I got to visit my family, see Into The Ark (a super cool Welsh band that you should totally check out) in concert, and tour Seattle University. It truly was such a nice and peaceful trip, just what I needed after a stressful and busy school year.

Alright, so fast forward to the day after I got back to LA, and I was sick for about a week. It got to the point where I was feeling so ill that I decided to visit urgent care. The doctors there gave me some awesome news – I had mono! YAY!!! (Please know that this is extremely sarcastic. For someone who hustles and works as much as I do, this was a real pain and not the best way to start summer.)

This resulted in me resting for another week before slowly going back to work and resuming my ‘normal’ day to day activities. It’s been a few weeks now, and I’m not going to lie, I’m still recovering. It’s a long process, but it’s finally time that I start uploading on here again. I miss posting, and I miss sharing all of my ideas with you. It’s going to be three years of Emily’s Edge next week, and I appreciate all of you so very much. Thanks for sticking with me through everything that’s been going on!

I hope you’re okay with this kind of chit chat blog post. Expect a new fashion blog post in no more than 24 hours :).

Alright, let’s get this up and running!

Talk to you soon,

I Love Glossier (And You Should, Too)

I Love Glossier (And You Should, Too)

Hello everyone!

It’s been a minute since I last blogged, but I am back! Quick little update before we start: I’ve been super busy with school and work. However, summer started a couple of weeks ago for me and I’m back to vlogging/blogging!

If you’ve been following me for awhile, it’s no surprise that I love Glossier. A year or so ago, I wrote this blog post on their Balm DotCom and Haloscope. However, over the past year, I’ve accumulated so many more goods. Many of these new purchases have happened within the past month!

I’ve made a few online orders, and even better, had the chance to visit the new Glossier store in Los Angeles! If you’d like to see more of that trip, you can click here to see my vlog!

There have been four products that I have been especially loving lately, so I figured that it would only be fair to talk to you about each! Let’s begin:

  1. Solution: Not only is the packaging so cute, but this product is amazing! I’ve been using it every night as an exfoliator, and then following it up with moisturizer. I personally love how this feels on my skin. It’s almost kind of rough, but not in a harsh and aggravating way, especially if you only use a little bit and follow it with moisturizer. I can tell that this product really exfoliates and cleans my skin from anything that might have still been on it after cleansing. I’ve also noticed that my skin does look better than before. I’m not completely sure if that’s due to this product, but even if it isn’t, I don’t care; I love it nonetheless for how it exfoliates. Additionally, when I received it, I had noticed a little bit had leaked in the package. The Glossier team was so lovely and sent me a backup! This is just further proof that not only are the products great, but the customer service truly cares and wants you to have the best experience!
  2. Invisible Shield: This is the best facial sunscreen I’ve used so far. After trying out a chunky (yep, I said it) sunscreen from First Aid Beauty, I decided that it was only right to buy the Glossier sunscreen and give it a go. And, wow…it did not disappoint! The sunscreen is almost like a gel, which makes a little bit go a long way. This also allows the sunscreen to be applied as a clear layer, as the name suggests. I personally hate when sunscreens smell weird or leave white marks on my face. However, Invisible Shield smells like lemons and works great under my makeup! I have nothing but good things to say about this sunscreen, and will recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a new one!
  3. Lip Gloss:  The lip gloss by Glossier gives such a nice shine to your lips while leaving them moisturized. Even after the gloss has worn off, I can still feel where I had it on. My lips feel nice and hydrated. I personally love keeping this in my bag for whenever I want to quickly throw something on. Not only does it smell like vanilla, but its clear and shiny formula will look amazing on anyone and is the perfect staple for your collection!
  4. Lash Slick: Okay, I had to save the best for last. I’m going to say it: THIS IS THE BEST MASCARA I HAVE EVER TRIED. It only felt right to put that in all caps, because I’m a big fan of mascara and not the easiest critic. However, Lash Slick does everything I’ve ever wanted a mascara to do. Even after 12 hours of wear, my lashes still look full and lifted. I never have black marks under my eyes, giving me what looks like terrible bags. The formula of this product truly does slick your lashes; they look lifted, full of volume, and at their best. This beats any other mascara I’ve tried so far, including the Dior Show mascara which was my favorite.

Have you fallen in love with Glossier yet? If not, make sure to click the names of the products above so that you can get your hands on them. I promise you won’t be disappointed, and this is from someone who is picky about her skincare.

Are there any products that you love from them? I think my next purchases are going to have to be Lidstar in Fawn and Cub, as well as the Mega Greens mask!

It feels great to be back and writing again. Thank you for sticking with me 🙂 you’re the best!

The New York Diaries- Edition Two

Welcome back, everyone!

I hope you love the new layout and design of my blog as much as I do. After two and a half years, Emily’s Edge needed to have some updates, not only in layout and design, but also content. I have even more ideas written down that I’m working on writing and getting photos for.

However, when I traveled back to New York last weekend, I knew I had to continue on my New York Diaries series. New York has a special place in my heart, and going there for the second time was a completely new experience!

I actually travelled to Manhattan to look at two schools. Fordham University is my dream college at the moment, so I figured it was time to book another trip and head up there to see the campus. As you can see in the second picture, it is so beautiful. I’m super glad that I got to see it. We’ll have to wait and see if the future takes me to NYC for school. Whether it does or it doesn’t, it will definitely take me back there for even more shopping, quality time with people I love, and amazing restaurants.

While we were there, it actually snowed! Being from Los Angeles, I don’t see snow unless I’m going somewhere cold for a vacation. It actually became too cold for me, and I ended up buying a warmer jacket because my leather one was just not going to do it. (No complaints from me, though. This new teddy jacket is a favorite already, but more on that in another post).

I already miss being able to walk to Urban Outfitters several times a day, the buildings in the city, and being able to really relax and take it all in.

I did so much while I was in New York, and I had such a great time yet again! I did bring my vlog camera with me though, so you’ll get to see even more in my next YouTube video!

There’s so much more content coming your way, and it truly feels so good to be sitting here and writing once again. I hope you guys are having such a great 2018 so far.

Talk to you so, so soon,

-Emily Berrol

Practicing Mindfulness and Happiness in 2018

Hey guys!

I’m writing a bit of a different blog post today, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless. Two very important things in life are mindfulness and happiness. I’ve recently stumbled upon some great activities and books that help promote both of these practices! I’ve been incorporating them into my daily routine and have enjoyed it so much. I want to share them with you, too!

Before I begin, I think setting aside time for all of these is really important. They require you to reflect and think, so it’s best that you have time to do so!

Here’s what I’ve been doing…

  1. Journaling. I’ve always loved journaling, especially because of my love for writing. I got this beautiful pink/rose gold journal for Christmas, and I’ve been making time to write in it frequently. For me personally, I like to write things out. I may know what I have to do in my mind, but writing it all down on paper makes me feel so much more organized. I’ve been setting aside time to write about all different things in this journal, such as to-do lists, goals, blog ideas, etc. It’s been great for organizing all of my thoughts. In addition to this, I’ve been using these planner stickers from I love sticking them in my journal! They vary from positive sayings to stickers that say rent due, doctors appointment, etc. They’re a perfect way to make journaling even more fun if you don’t already enjoy it.
  2. Gratitude Lists. The act of practicing gratitude is so important in your daily life. This little gratitude jotter book has lists where you can fill out what you’re thankful for each day. I personally really love this, and I think that with constant practice, you’ll notice a big impact on your life. Not only will this make you feel happy, but it will put things in your life into perspective.
  3. 52 Lists for Happiness. This book has a list that you can fill out each week for one year. It has several different topics that cultivate good thoughts and happy feelings. Like the gratitude list journal, this book allows you to focus on the positive things in your life rather than the negative ones. The book also has suggestions so that you can make proactive decisions when it comes to balancing happiness. Besides this, it has such cute and fun illustrations on each page.

I’m someone who loves to stay positive, so setting aside time to write and do these activities is a must, especially for 2018. I’m feeling really confident for the new year, and I hope you are too!

There’s going to be lots more posts in 2018, so get ready!

Here’s what I’m showing:

Update: Where I’ve Been, YouTube, Etc.

A little picture from one of my Youtube videos.

Hey everyone!

So as you have probably noticed, I’ve been MIA for the past few weeks. However, despite the fact that I’ve been absent, I’ve been working on even more content for you!

During the past few months, I have been thinking about creating a YouTube channel as an extension of Emily’s Edge. After getting a camera and filming some videos, I finally did it!

I hope you enjoy my YouTube channel as much as I do. I’ve been having a lot of fun filming videos, and the comments I’ve received so far are amazing. I’m so grateful to have all of your support.

Although I am uploading frequently to YouTube, I will 100% keep blogging. I love sitting down and writing about what I love, and I know you guys enjoy it, too.

I’m super excited to start 2018 while running both my blog and YouTube channel. I have lots of new blog posts and videos coming your way!

If you would like to see my YouTube videos, the link is HERE.

Thank you all so much for the support in 2017! It’s been a great year, and I can’t wait to see what greater, bigger things 2018 has in store for Emily’s Edge.

Lots of love and Happy New Year,

Emily Berrol

The Details

Here it is, the outfit post I promised you last weekend! Hooray!

So you’re probably thinking, “Really, Emily? This is the outfit? Another denim jacket with some high waist jeans?” and I know, but this post really isn’t about how boring the outfit is. It’s about the details.

Just before we get started, can we all agree that Alanna managed to make every single one of these outfit pictures look perfect? I love them.

I decided to accessorize this outfit with my classic denim jacket, and as you can see, I have quite a few pins on it right now. All of them happen to be COIN merch at the moment, but I’m pretty okay with that. I love adding pins to my denim jackets. I always get so many compliments and it really makes a jacket look way cooler.

I also have my gold necklaces on that I love to layer. They’re essential for any basic outfit, and I love the way these two work together. They look perfect as a pair!

Also, you’ve probably noticed the little tie in my shirt. I’ve been doing this a lot lately. Does anyone else remember when people would make little tails out of their shirts in 2010? This vaguely reminds me of that, but much more modern and, well, fashionable. I think this is such a cute thing to do to an oversized tee. It especially looks amazing with high waist pants (my favorite). It just makes an outfit more interesting while remaining flattering.

Lastly, I wore my rings like I always do. I also have some earrings in, and I realize that I just about never talk to you guys about earnings. I always have an earring in, but for some reason they’re never mentioned. For this look, I wore my little, diamond cartilage stud and some crystal earrings.

Unfortunately I could not find any pictures of the boots I was wearing with this outfit. But, guess what? They’re new and perfect. Definitely a blog post coming about those soon as it’s December and you know how I feel about boot season.

I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post! I’m going to try and post the next couple of weeks, but just know that I have some big tests coming up so I might be a little absent. Very fun and exciting things coming though!

Here’s what I’m wearing:

Basic Crew Neck Tee in white by LAmade

Black Joni Jeans from Topshop

No Heartbreakers Denim Jacket (more here)

Gold Star Choker Necklace from SHOPEVREN on Etsy

Gold Multi Charm Necklace with Dragonfly from Tai

Rebecca Minkoff Julian Backpack
