Valentine’s Day Nails and Accessories

Since Valentine’s Day is next week, I assumed that it was only right to put together a Valentine’s themed post! Valentine’s Day is a great day to spend time with your family and friends, as well as an excuse to wear multiple shades of pink! I put a poll up on my Twitter, and more people voted yes to seeing this blog idea than no. I’m really happy with how everything turned out, and I hope it gives you some ideas!

I decided I would show you an easy Valentine’s Day manicure, as well as some of my favorite accessories that will be perfect for the holiday. I’ll start off first by going through how I did my nails.

These nails are very simple to do, and I think that they look perfect for the holiday since they’re pink. For the majority of my nails, I used a light pink color called Lovie Dovie from Essie. I applied this color twice to all of my nails except my ring fingers. On my ring fingers, I used Essie’s color Mod Square (and applied two coats of it as well). Lastly, I put on the pink, sparkly top coat called A Cut Above. I only put on one, light coat of this because I didn’t want the sparkles to be too noticeable. There is already a big contrast between the two shades on the nails already, so there was no need to add a lot of sparkles. Essie nail polishes have really good pigmentation, so I definitely recommend them. You could definitely do this nail design with other colors if you’re not interested in going for all pinks.

Painting your nails is a great way to show a little bit of festivity for different holidays!

I decided that I would pick out a few accessories to go with the Valentine’s Day theme so that you have an idea of how you could accessorize. If you want to buy a gift for your valentine, here are also a few different ideas.

Firstly, I am showing an adorable pink, glittery Kate Spade makeup bag in a majority of these photos. It is a really good size for holding different makeup products. I actually kept my makeup in it when I went on vacation in December, and everything fit really nicely. I also think that it would fit in you purse if you wanted to keep it in there. Overall, I think the color of it is perfect! I love how glittery it is and the color.

Next, I think that the crystal heart earrings I’m showing are so perfect for Valentine’s Day! I wore these with the Dior lipstick I’m showing, and I thought that it was such a cute look. I got these earrings a while ago from a store called Icing, but I’m sure you can find similar ones online. These are sterling silver.

I think that the rose gold, crystal bow bracelet is one of my favorite accessories I’m showing. I’ve been wearing this lately with my watch, and since it’s a bangle bracelet, it looks so cute when they’re layered together. It’s from Kate Spade (no surprise there). The bracelet I’m showing with it is from a store called Sugar. It’s style is like a Cartier Love Bracelet. Both of these look great when they’re stacked on top of each other.

Lastly, I am showing two lip options. The first one is a Jack Of All Trades lip balm by Bare Minerals in the shade Baby Doll. I have been wearing this lip balm a lot lately, and I love it! It’s a light pink color. It looks very natural on. Even though it applies like a lip balm, its color definitely shows when you wear it. The other lip product I’m showing is a lipstick by Dior. It is in the color Bright. I wear this lipstick so often, and it’s definitely one of my favorites. Online, this lipstick looks like a nude color, but it’s actually a rosy pink with sparkles in it. This lipstick is very smooth and creamy without having the consistency of a lip gloss. If you like lipsticks that are glossy, definitely check out Dior!
