Hey everyone!
Last week, Emily’s Edge turned five! Can you believe it?! It’s crazy to think that I’ve spent half a decade writing on here. My life has changed so much over the past five years, and I owe you all a big thank you.
I originally started Emily’s Edge as just a hobby and a way for me to express my own views and opinions when it came to fashion. If you go back to my very first blog posts five years ago, you’ll see that for awhile, I was just posting outfit pictures or sharing some of my favorite accessories. Over the years, this blog has become so much more than that; I’ve been able to use this platform to express not only fashion but also some of my personal life. I’ve quite literally grown up doing this, from writing about fashion as an incoming high school freshman to moving to New York to get a B.S. degree in fashion studies. There have been so many things that have happened with this blog that I didn’t anticipate when I first started it. I had no idea that I’d be able to collaborate with other awesome brands and people, get the chance to be interviewed about my blog for college essays, model for my friend’s brand, etc. All of these things, and so many more, have allowed me to establish credibility, grow as a creative individual, and create my own brand.
I am so grateful. It’s so rewarding to have a place where I can be myself. It’s been even more rewarding creating more meaningful content as time has progressed. Don’t get me wrong, you all know I love a good favorites post, but speaking about topics like Black owned businesses and Black Lives Matter has been transformational for me. This platform has never been to only serve myself; it’s been created for so much more than that. It’s a space for you as much as it is a space for me.
I forever hope you know how thankful I am for the support and for every single view or click on here. Thank you for five years – here’s to so many more!
Lots of love,
-Emily Berrol
