At the moment, I am currently loving wearing a backpack as a handbag. It’s convenient, but it’s really fashionable at the same time.
I have noticed that during the summer season people tend to use backpacks as purses. It hasn’t just started this summer; people have been doing it for a couple of years now. Why is this such a trend?
Well, to start off with, backpacks go over your shoulders so they don’t get in your way. There have been a few times where I’ve been carrying more than one thing and my purse has gotten stuck in between other bags. Backpacks fit nicely on your back and they don’t prevent you from holding other items (like shopping bags).
They can also hold so much more than a purse. You know that jacket that you don’t want to carry? Yep, it can fit in your backpack. Backpacks are great for traveling for this same exact reason. If you want more room in your carry on bag, backpacks are the way to go.
Lastly, backpacks are fashionable. They add an extra accessory to your outfit when styled correctly.
The backpack I like to use is this leather backpack from Moda Luxe. If you’ve read my other blog posts, you’ve probably already seen it. I love that it has a cute zipper with fringe on it. It has a drawstring to close it and a magnetic clasp. There is also a zipper pocket and a built-in fabric pocket on the inside of it. It has gold hardware and a detachable handle too, so you can wear it like a purse if you would like to.
I personally think my backpack is so trendy with the leather and the fringe. To be honest, I kind of wish backpacks for school were this cute. Most backpacks that are meant for school aren’t as fashionable, but if you would like to get a backpack to wear as a handbag, I recommend Moda Luxe. I saw ASOS and Topshop had some cute ones as well.
Here’s what I’m wearing:
Cold Shoulder Top from Topshop
Floral Jeans from Topshop
White “Fancy” Converse from Converse
Backpack/Handbag from Moda Luxe
(There’s a full blog post on this outfit here.)
Talk to you soon!
