Hi everyone!
I am writing a much different blog post today! I have decided to make a what’s in my makeup bag post because it has been requested. I really like to hear all of your ideas about what you’d like to see! If you have any, make sure to let me know because I always try to make them.
I need to throw in a quick disclaimer: I am definitely not a professional beauty blogger. If you use products differently, that’s totally okay! Let’s take a look in my makeup bag…
If I need to take my makeup away with me, I carry it in this sparkly pink bag from Kate Spade. It’s small enough that it won’t take up too much space in a big bag, but it’s able to hold all of my stuff. To start off with, I’ll talk about my foundation. This is the Bare Minerals original foundation in the color fairly light. It has SPF 15 in it. Plus, they make a matte version of this, so if you have more oily skin you can try that. This is a loose powder foundation. I love it because it gives a nice coverage while it’s on, but it doesn’t cover everything. If you have any freckles or marks on your skin, this will not completely cover them. It’s not heavy at all, and it gives you a super natural look, which I really like because I keep my makeup minimalistic and natural. I apply this with the Bare Minerals kabuki brush. I personally love this brush. It applies the foundation evenly across your face. It doesn’t make the foundation look really cake-y in any particular spots. It’s amazing to use when you’re applying foundation.
I also have a couple more brushes that I bring with me. I have a little brush that can be used for multiple things. I personally use this brush with a little bit of foundation on it if I ever want to add more coverage to a super small area. Of course, you could always use a concealer to do this as well. I don’t do this everyday, and I also don’t use it on big areas, so a small brush works great for me. If you have a bigger area that you want it, a concealer would work amazingly! I also keep a powder brush in my bag because if I decide to do this, I want it to be blended out. I like using a powder brush because it’s big, so it works well for blending foundation.
For my eyelashes, I like to curl them before I apply mascara. Curling makes your eyelashes appear longer, which is a major bonus. I use the Smashbox Full Exposure mascara. I love it so much! If you’re looking for a new and awesome mascara, definitely check this product out. I genuinely don’t think it’s talked about as much as it should be. The mascara lasts all day, makes your eyelashes dark, and makes them look long and full. I also find that the tube of mascara lasts a good amount of time. The wand is very thick, so it applies a lot of mascara to your eyelashes without it looking clumpy. Just in case I get too much product on my eyelashes, I use this eyebrow comb. Using both sides of an eyebrow comb is so helpful if your mascara looks too clumpy. It takes and evens out the product. I especially like to use it on my bottom lashes.
I know a lot of people are really into filing in their eyebrows, but I just use a clear brow gel on mine. Using a clear gel isn’t something you need to do, but it does make the hair stay in the same place. I have just started using this one from Jane Iredale.
I might as well confess this now: I have a big lipstick and lipgloss collection. I’ve been getting different kinds and colors for quite awhile now, so it’s no surprise that I currently have three in my bag. I have been wearing the cremesheen lipglass from M.A.C recently. It’s the prettiest pink color that adds some soft color to your lips. I’ve also been wearing the Stila lip glaze (which actually smells like apricots). Lastly, I have my Too Faced liquid lipstick in the shade Child Star. It’s one of my favorites.
That seems to be all in my makeup bag at the moment, but I’m sure a few more types of lipsticks will make it in there within a few hours. I hope you all enjoyed this type of blog post despite the fact that I’m much more educated about fashion.
